YOU & YOUR TEAM
You or your team are VR developers, avionics and aerospace enthusiasts, UX/UI designers, entrepreneurs, engineers, machine learning enthusiasts or programmers.
You find it exciting to think outside the box, because there is so much more is possible in VR.
YOUR MISSION
In the aerospace industry, innovations are implemented cautiously and rather in an evolutionary manner as very high demands are placed on safety and the associated approval procedures. Conventional cockpits are therefore characterized by switches and small displays, with a maximum of screens and HUD (augmented reality).
We would like to change that, we would like to disrupt the physical cockpit and migrate entirely to a virtualized one. Leveraging the full potential of virtually integrating technology and more than just emulating existing cockpits: Truly designing for the future!
YOUR PRICE
The best ideas and prototypes will be awarded by an interdisciplinary jury and cash prizes can be awarded: 3rd placing: 2.000 € | 2nd placing: 3.000 € | 1st placing: 5.000 €!
Besides that, you will have the option of follow-up funding through the Applied Data Incubator and the opportunity to further develop the prototype in cooperation with the challenge provider LITEF getting access into industry.
YOUR STRATEGY
1.
Build your team by meeting them on the hackathon or go single handed.
2.
Find new ideas around helicopter cockpit and designing a virtual helicopter cockpit leveraging the full potential of VR - more than just emulating physical reality.
3.
Create a prototype during our two week hacktahon while using Unreal (version 04), DCS World or XPlane 11, Nvidia RTX3090, NVIDIA DGX STATION as well as Oculus Rift VR, Epson Moverio or HP Reverb G2 to create your virtual cockpit.
4.
Present your team and prototype and convince the jury about your innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit.
5.
Win cash prizes, highly desired incubator spots & get connected to a network to found or grow your start-up!

We invite you to join us on this event: you will learn everything important and worth knowing about the hackathon. Meet there interesting speakers the subject: prototyper, a helicopter pilot, meet start-up coaches, mobility start-ups, & more.
HACKATHON both weekends 5th - 7th of August & 12th - 14th of August 2022 @ The Drivery
Get together @Drivery and find in the algorithm farm XPlane 11, Unreal engine v4 plus plugins, and VR infrastructure. Please bring your own laptop and IDE to develop. Exchange your ideas with your team, discover the exciting interplay of physics -, graphics- & programming.
PITCH & WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT 19th of August 2022 @ The Drivery
You have the chance to show us what you have. At the Hangar 18 of The Drivery, our jury members will review your fantastic work and assess the best ideas. The cash prices will awarded as well as the nominees for the Applied Data Incubator and the opportunity to further develop the prototype in cooperation with the challenge provider LITEF.
